is there really a need of dangerous stunts just for the public to donate money? this year, they had achieved S$2 million more from their target. S$7m. the donations became the highest when Vernerable Shi Ming Yi walked 2 22m long wooden poles, 66m above Republic Plaza. was it really necessary for him to risk his life, just to make the public call the hotlines?


singing and dancing were not enough for some people. but it is really, enough is enough. year 2003, he did abseiling at Suntec City, 2004, he stood in 1000kg of ice for 23 minutes. every year, he would do something that is so dangerous, one wrong move would cost his life, or to injure him. like this year, it was raining so heaily and the wind was so strong. the poles were slippery and wet.


i understand he wanted to set an example for the public, telling people that the people are suffering more than us. but, dont you think, it's worthless for him to do these things? why not just let the concert to perform in the hall, then to encourage the people to call the hotline?


but i bet after the performance of the monk, many people were touched by his bravery and determination.


many people are feeling numb to charity shows. why? because of the increase in dangerous stunts. too much of the good things make things bad.


if everybody in singapore, went to the phone after seeing the stunts, what signal is the singaporeans giving? that singaporeans are full of love? care? another side is the hospital. did Vernerable Shi Ming Yi did these stunts, merely just want the hospital to be rich? NO.


when donating money, you must be full of love, kindness. if the stunts is soooooooo touching, that you cried your house to an ocean, does it mean that you're going to call non-stop? your choice.


what my suggestion is, stop these stunts. if singapreans are kind enough to donate money, there's no need to have these shows, they will still donate money. how i feel is that the organisations are using the artistes to get whatever some of money they want. bad.
